CAIR-DFW Welcomes Firing of Texas Assistant Attorney General Over Racists Tweets
(DALLAS, TX, 9/4/2020) – The Dallas/Fort-Worth chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-DFW) today welcomed the firing of Texas Assistant Attorney Nick Moutos over dozens of racists, Islamophobic, anti-Black, and transphobic tweets on social media.
Some of his tweets threatened Black Lives Matter protesters, called Islam a “virus” and trans people as an “abomination.”

“We welcome the firing of Nick Moutos from the Attorney General’s office,” said CAIR-DFW Executive Director Faizan Syed. “Any public official who espouses hate-filled, racist, and bigoted statements has no business in government and should be removed immediately. This firing is a good step and we hope government agencies will have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry.”
