RRISD Maintained Eid-Ul-Fitr as a Student Holiday as Planned

CAIR-TX would like to thank RRISD Board of Trustees on behalf of Round Rouck Muslim families for the favoring outcome. Acknowledging Muslims Holidays is an appreciated step toward more acceptance and mutual existance.

On Mar. 21st, The Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-TX) called on the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) to keep its plans to mark the Islamic holiday marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, as a holiday on its academic calendar. The Board of Trustees at RRISD met on Mar. 23rd and announcement sent to the parents on Mar. 24th that the student holiday on Apr. 21st is to be kept as planned on 2022/2023 schools calendar. Muslim families received the news with much releif and are looking forward to a joy-filled Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration with the entire family members.
