What: 11th Annual Palestine/Israel Film Festival, "Broken Lense"
When: Jan. 19th & 20th
Organizer: Trinity Presbyterian Church
Where: 2200 N Bell Ave., Denton, TX. 76209
Why: Raise awareness about Palestine/Israel issues

The Presbyterian Church (USA) denomination has a long history of involvement in the Middle East, dating back over 200 years. More recently, the PC(USA) in 2005 became the first Christian denomination in the world to call for a selective divestment process from companies profiting from injustices in Palestine/Israel, before making the front page of the New York Times when it divested in 2014 from Caterpillar, Motorola Solutions, and Hewlett-Packard.
In 2022, the national PC(USA) denomination overwhelmingly passed a resolution, originated in North Texas, that names Israel as practicing the crime of apartheid as defined in international law.
